WHY GO WHOLE-HOME
The Right Order Saves the Whole Budget
On a whole-home renovation, sequence is everything. Electrical and plumbing rough-ins have to happen before walls close. Flooring decisions ripple into every doorway and transition. A kitchen that’s gorgeous on its own can clash with the bathrooms down the hall if nobody planned the materials together. When the house is renovated as one coordinated project, each trade lands in the right order, the finishes carry through, and you’re not tearing back into finished work to fix something that should have been handled earlier. That coordination is where the real money is saved and where one-room-at-a-time renovations quietly lose it.
Four pillars:
- A single scope that sequences every trade correctly
- Material and finish choices that carry through the whole house
- One project manager owning the schedule end to end
- A budget plan that puts dollars where they do the most good
HOW EVERY PROJECT BEGINS
A Walkthrough of the Whole House First
You can’t scope a whole home over the phone, and you shouldn’t trust a number that was. A Battlefield project manager walks the entire house with you, room by room, system by system reading the structure, the mechanicals, and the condition of what’s already there, then weighs it against what you want the finished home to be. You come away with a renovation plan that’s sequenced and prioritized, a real price, and a timeline built around your house actually being livable through the work.
- Room-by-room assessment plus a look at structure, plumbing, and electrical
- A written scope and fixed price across the full project
- A phased schedule that accounts for living in the home during construction
- Clear priorities, what happens first, and why

What a Full-Home Renovation Pulls Together
Structure and Systems
Whole-home work is the right moment to fix what a room-by-room approach never reaches. We address layout and structural changes that open a closed-off floor plan, update aging electrical and plumbing across the house at once, and correct the things older Virginia Beach homes hide: undersized panels, tired supply lines, and ventilation that never worked. Doing it all in one pass means the walls only open once.
Kitchens, Baths, and Living Spaces
The rooms still get the full treatment kitchen cabinetry and counters, bathroom showers and tile, flooring, lighting, and finishes throughout. The difference on a whole-home project is that they’re designed to belong to the same house. One flooring decision runs cleanly from room to room. The trim, the hardware, the palette chosen once, applied consistently, so the finished home reads as one home and not a series of separate remodels.
Sequencing and Coordination
This is the part that only exists on a whole-home job, and it’s where it’s won or lost. We build the order of operations, schedule trades so they don’t collide, stage materials so nothing stalls the next phase, and keep one point of contact across all of it. You’re not managing a kitchen crew, a tile crew, and an electrician who’ve never spoken we are.
STRAIGHT TALK
Is a Whole-Home Renovation Your Project?
We take on:
- Full-house renovations and major multi-room remodels
- Older homes needing coordinated kitchen, bath, flooring, and finish updates
- Homes being prepared for resale or a long-term stay
- Floor-plan changes, structural openings, and system-wide updates
- Homeowners with a realistic whole-home budget and timeline
- Second homes and investment properties handled start to finish
- Virginia Beach homeowners who want one accountable contractor, not five
We're not the fit for:
- Single-room remodels priced and scheduled on their own
- Cosmetic refreshes or minor repairs
- Anyone whose only question is the lowest possible price
- Open-ended projects with no defined scope

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a whole-home renovation cost in Virginia Beach?
It varies more than any single-room project, because it depends on how many rooms are involved, whether walls or systems are moving, and the level of finishes throughout. Whole-home renovations typically start well above a single-room remodel and scale with scope. We don’t put a number on it until we’ve walked the entire house and built a written scope — anything quoted before that is a guess.
Can I live in the house during the renovation?
Often, yes and we plan the schedule around it, phasing the work so essential rooms stay usable as long as possible. For larger gut renovations it’s sometimes better to be out for part of the timeline; we’ll tell you honestly which situation yours is during the assessment.
What is your renovation process from start to finish?
Our process is built for clarity. First, you submit a project request through our website or by phone. Second, our customer service representative contacts you to gather initial details and confirm we are the right fit. Third, we schedule your free in-home consultation and arrive on time. Fourth, we deliver a written quote with clear pricing and a defined scope. Fifth, once you approve the quote, we schedule the project, coordinate materials, and execute the build with disciplined project management. Finally, we complete a final walkthrough, address any punch list items, and hand the project off. No surprises. No fluff.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Battlefield Home Services is fully licensed Class A Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, bonded, and carries liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Documentation is available on request.
What does the free on-site assessment include?
The free in-home consultation includes a scheduled, on-time visit from a qualified team member, a detailed walkthrough of your space and renovation goals, discussion of layout, materials, scope, timeline, and realistic budget ranges, identification of any structural, plumbing, or electrical considerations, and a written follow-up with a clear path forward. You leave with information you can use even if you choose not to hire us
Is there any obligation after the assessment?
No. The consultation is free and there is no obligation to move forward. You receive a written follow-up with our recommendations and a clear path forward. If we are the right fit, we will earn the project on the strength of our plan and pricing. If we are not, you still walk away with useful information.
Do you offer a warranty?
Warranty coverage varies based on the specific materials, fixtures, and scope of your project. Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures are passed through to you. Workmanship coverage is detailed in your project agreement. We do not make blanket warranty promises because every renovation is different. Your specific coverage is documented in writing before work begins, so you know exactly what is and is not covered.
