HOW EVERY PROJECT BEGINS
No Phone Quotes. A Real Look First.
A bathroom hides most of its real work behind tile and drywall, so a number quoted over the phone is a guess, and guesses turn into change orders. Before we price anything, a Battlefield project manager comes to your home and reads the room the way a builder does: where the water runs, how the space breathes, what shape the subfloor is in, and how you actually want to use the finished bathroom. By the end of that visit you have a defined scope, a real price, and a timeline you can plan around.
- We check the plumbing routing, drainage, venting, and any signs of past moisture
- You get a fixed price tied to a written scope, not a range
- Clear timeline discussed and committed to before work begins
- No pressure. No obligation. No vague numbers
Our Services
What can we help you transform...
A tub sitting unused is wasted square footage. For many homeowners, especially those planning to age in place or preparing a property for resale, converting an old tub to a walk-in shower solves two problems at once: daily usability and long-term home value.
Our tub-to-shower conversions include full removal of the existing tub, structural and plumbing adjustments where needed, waterproofing, and installation of a low-threshold or curbless shower base. We handle tile, glass enclosures, fixtures, and finish work as one coordinated scope, not a patchwork of subcontracted pieces.
Before we quote a conversion, we assess your plumbing layout, subfloor condition, and drainage on-site. That’s why our on-site assessment isn’t a sales visit; it’s the step that lets us give you a firm, accurate number instead of a placeholder estimate that changes once work starts.
Walk-in showers are one of the most requested upgrades we see across Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk for good reason. A well-built walk-in shower improves daily function, modernizes a dated bathroom, and reads as a premium feature to future buyers if you sell.
Our walk-in shower installations are built to last: proper slope and waterproofing behind the tile, framed or frameless glass, bench seating and niche storage where the layout allows, and fixture placement based on how you actually use the space not a stock template.
We do not treat a walk-in shower as an add-on to a bigger job. Whether it’s a standalone upgrade or part of a full bathroom remodel, it gets the same structural attention: correct waterproofing membrane, correct drain placement, and finish work done right the first time.
A worn vanity is often the first thing people notice, and the first thing they underestimate. Replacing a vanity involves more than swapping a cabinet: plumbing connections, countertop fit, backsplash tie-in, and electrical for lighting or outlets all have to line up correctly.
We handle vanity replacement as a full scope: removal of the old unit, any plumbing rework required for the new footprint, countertop and sink installation, and finish carpentry so the new vanity looks built-in, not dropped in. Single or double-vanity layouts, standard or custom sizing, we assess your space and plumbing rough-in before quoting so there are no surprise change orders mid-project.
Not every homeowner wants to convert a tub to a shower, many simply want a newer, better-built tub in the same footprint, especially in homes with a second bathroom already covered by a shower. Bathtub replacement is a distinct scope from a full remodel, and we quote it that way.
Our bathtub replacement process includes removal of the existing unit, inspection of the subfloor and plumbing connections behind the wall, and installation of the new tub with correctly sealed surround and fixtures. Material options range from standard alcove tubs to soaking tubs for a more premium finish, depending on your goals and budget.
Honest Fit, Up front
Let's Make Sure We're a Match
We take on:
- Complete bathroom renovations and full gut remodels
- Primary baths, guest baths, and powder-room-to-full conversions
- Tub-to-shower conversions and walk-in shower builds
- Layout changes, relocated plumbing, and opened-up floor plans
- Accessibility and aging-in-place renovations planned properly
- Projects with a realistic budget, generally $11,000 and up
- Virginia Beach homeowners who want a clear price and a clear plan
We're not the fit for:
- One-off fixture swaps or small repairs
- Re-grouting, re-caulking, or chasing a single leak
- Anyone whose only question is the lowest possible price
- Rush jobs with no defined scope
If your project is a good fit, we’ll be glad to schedule a free on-site assessment. If not, we’ll point
you in the right direction.
Finance the Bathroom You Actually Want
Trimming scope to fit a cash budget is how bathrooms end up needing redone. Qualified homeowners can often finance the full project with 0% down and build it right the first time, rather than in pieces.
Subject to credit approval. Terms vary by lender.
what's included in your bathroom remodeling service
Where Your Budget Actually Goes
Behind the Wall
This is the work that decides whether a bathroom lasts five years or twenty-five, and it’s the part a cheap remodel skips. We install proper waterproofing membranes, correct drainage and venting that older homes almost always got wrong, move supply and waste lines when the layout demands it, and rebuild any subfloor that water has reached. None of it shows in a photo. All of it shows up later if it’s done wrong.
The Shower and the Surfaces
A shower is a small structure, and it fails fast when it’s rushed. We build ours to drain, seal, and survive daily use of sloped pans, sealed niches, full-height surrounds, glass enclosures, and curbless entries where the floor allows. Beyond the shower, this covers tub installation, floor and wall tile, and stone or quartz vanity tops chosen to match how hard the room gets used.
What You Touch Every Day
The finishing layer is also the working layer. We size exhaust ventilation to actually clear steam, lay lighting that’s both flattering and damp-rated, set water-efficient toilets and faucets, fit vanities to the real dimensions of the room, and run the electrical to carry all of it safely. Heated floors go in here too, when the budget has room. One project manager coordinates the whole thing.
From First Visit to Final Walkthrough
Clear plan. Clear pricing. Clear communication at every stage.
Free onsite assessment
A project manager visits, inspects the existing conditions, talks budget and goals, and tells you honestly whether it’s a fit.
Written scope and fixed pricing
A detailed proposal with the full scope, a fixed price, and a real timeline. Nothing vague, nothing that creeps later.
Scheduling and preparation
Tile, fixtures, vanity, glass chosen and ordered before demo, so your bathroom isn’t sitting torn open waiting on a backorder.
Construction
A single project manager runs the crew and the schedule. You always know what’s happening this week and exactly who to call.
Final walkthrough
We walk the completed bathroom with you and correct anything that isn’t right before the job is closed out.

Battlefield Home Services saved the day!! I needed some last minute work done in order to sell my house and close on time. BHS took over and corrected some poorly done work from another contractor. Michelle who sets everything up is super nice and Christian the contractor was also very nice and very knowledgeable. They were able to meet my tight deadline and get everything done. I am very grateful! Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

As a homeowner who has hired plenty of contractors over the years, I can honestly say finding trustworthy, quality companies is HARD. I’ve had some good experiences, but unfortunately plenty of bad ones too; which is why I felt compelled to leave this review for Battlefield Home Services. I originally reached out for a few smaller jobs, and anyone who’s owned a home knows many contractors don’t even want to bother with smaller projects anymore. Not only did they respond quickly to my email and quote request, but they had someone out almost immediately (thanks, Michelle!). By the end of the day, I had a very fair and reasonable quote for drywall repair, paint, recessed lighting replacements, etc. What truly stood out wasn’t just the quality of work, it was the experience as a whole. From communication to scheduling to technology, they are operating on a level I honestly haven’t seen from any companies in this industry. Everything was professional, efficient, and transparent from start to finish. Christian and Rod were at my home for three days, and not once did I feel uncomfortable, pressured, or upsold. In fact, it was the complete opposite. They were welcoming, respectful, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind human beings. I found myself asking their opinions because they created such a comfortable environment and that’s not something I say lightly! Sadly, a lot of homeowners (especially women) know the feeling of dreading contractor experiences or feeling uneasy during them. This company completely restored my faith that good people in this industry still exist. The work was outstanding, the pricing was fair, and the professionalism exceeded every expectation I had. Honestly, before these guys get too big, they are exactly the kind of small business people should support. They deserve every bit of success coming their way. If you’ve been hesitant to hire someone because of past experiences, take a chance on these guys. I would recommend them again without hesitation.Posted on Google![]()

Christian and team did an excellent job, and I’m relieved to know there’s a local service I can trust to do good work at a very reasonable price. Tommy arrived early for a small—yet slightly unusual—job at my home. I needed two squirrel feeders mounted about 15 feet up on separate trees, and he placed them exactly where I wanted, securing them perfectly with no hassle. He also repaired a loose fence panel using his pneumatic nail gun and even hauled away an old pallet and some other wood debris. My wife and I truly appreciated Tommy’s professionalism, attention to detail, and dependable, on-time service. He’s a genuinely nice guy, and we’ll definitely be calling on Tommy and Battlefield Home Services again.Posted on Home Advisor![]()

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Virginia Beach?
Most full renovations land between $11,000 and $45,000. What moves the number is whether plumbing or walls are relocated, the condition we uncover behind the old surfaces, and the level of tile and fixtures you choose. A guest bath tends toward the lower end; a primary bath with a custom shower and stone surfaces runs higher. We never price by the square foot or sight-unseen, your number comes from the onsite visit and a written scope.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Battlefield Home Services offers financing with $0 down for qualified homeowners. You can move forward with your kitchen or bathroom renovation without putting any money down at signing and pay over time through one of our trusted financing partners. We will walk you through your financing options during your on-site assessment so you understand monthly payment ranges before you make any decisions. Full financing details and application information are available on our financing page. Subject to credit approval. Terms vary by lender.
What is your renovation process from start to finish?
Our process is built for clarity. First, you submit a project request through our website or by phone. Second, our customer service representative contacts you to gather initial details and confirm we are the right fit. Third, we schedule your free in-home consultation and arrive on time. Fourth, we deliver a written quote with clear pricing and a defined scope. Fifth, once you approve the quote, we schedule the project, coordinate materials, and execute the build with disciplined project management. Finally, we complete a final walkthrough, address any punch list items, and hand the project off. No surprises. No fluff.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Battlefield Home Services is fully licensed Class A Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, bonded, and carries liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Documentation is available on request.
What does the free on-site assessment include?
The free in-home consultation includes a scheduled, on-time visit from a qualified team member, a detailed walkthrough of your space and renovation goals, discussion of layout, materials, scope, timeline, and realistic budget ranges, identification of any structural, plumbing, or electrical considerations, and a written follow-up with a clear path forward. You leave with information you can use even if you choose not to hire us
Is there any obligation after the assessment?
No. The consultation is free and there is no obligation to move forward. You receive a written follow-up with our recommendations and a clear path forward. If we are the right fit, we will earn the project on the strength of our plan and pricing. If we are not, you still walk away with useful information.
Do you offer a warranty?
Warranty coverage varies based on the specific materials, fixtures, and scope of your project. Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures are passed through to you. Workmanship coverage is detailed in your project agreement. We do not make blanket warranty promises because every renovation is different. Your specific coverage is documented in writing before work begins, so you know exactly what is and is not covered.
